Feeding boiled egg yolk?
With all these eggs laying around it made me wonder, can I feed my small angelfish the yolk from a boiled egg? Thanks.

It's common practice way back to feed fry hard boiled egg yolk. You have to be careful and feed very little and clean the tank frequently because uneaten yolk spoils.
If they're small fish and not fry, it's best you gel the yolk with agar or gelatin so they don't cloud the water. While you're at it add more nutritious food in too like shrimp, fish bits etc... I find that you need to cook the diy food so you don't pass on commercial fish diseases.

It can work in a pinch but almost any other fry food out there is going to be better...probably not the best thing to be feeding juvenile/adult fish either.

We fed egg yolk to some guppy fry born yesterday and a little to the adult guppies and swordtail and Molly they went crazy for it the ghost shrimp were grabbing up pieces and hiding all of them running around with yellow insides looked pretty funny. But it really clouds the water I don't think we will do it much.
