Driftwood: Bay Area LFS with good selection

Hey Good People,

I'm about to set up a LARGE tank, recently converted from a reef system.

The tank is 52 x 36 x 36. I need some BIG pieces of driftwood and can't seem to find a shop in the East Bay (where I live) that carries anything close to what I want. I was hoping one of you folks had a good lead on a nice selection of tank hardscaping.

As long as I'm here, I might as well ask: I'd love to see any photos of LARGE aquascaping.

Also, does anyone have an opinion on using cork for the background? I saw some photos of it on this forum once. I tried it on a smaller tank and the silicone didn't hold it too well. Any advice?

Any and all help is greatly appreciated.

I hear that cork detriorates fast in a planted tank. As for large pieces of driftwood i am not sure. I head sarahbobarah got a nice deal for a large bunch. Going to a store will probably cost you more.

I'm not sure about the best places in the East Bay for driftwood, but for great photos of large aquascapes, you can't beat these...

PetClub in Mountain View sometimes has some driftwood of a decent size. Perhaps youd be able to add a couple medium sizes tangled together to get the "big chunk" effect your looking for.

You might as well try Nature Aquarium World Book 3, by Takashi Amano

Why heck, ya should have tagged along today with me. I found some nice wood in the American River as well as nice Yuba river rock.

I have a lot of wood.
What type of wood are you looking for?

There are a number of very suitable woods in CA.
Redwood root is one of my personal favorites.
