Just keep digging! Dig a pond around the entire pool, it would look great.

more progress, I estimate 772G now at 35" depth.

Will have 3 Koi in this pond.

I don't have any more space in any direction to expand. I think I will keep it 30-35" inches deep. I think it will end up about 700G

I have used pressurized on my old ponds and DIY 55G drum bio filter see here 3000G http://www.plantedtank.net/forums/po...-progress.html

I think I will hide a new pressurized bio filter behind trees and also pump water to a small water fall or weir filter that I have already.

I'm thinking of trying out the a Jebo http://www.jebaopumps.com/products/J...nd-Filter.html

I bought a skimmer from Jebo and it worked well.

Dug out the final shape and depth is no 44" at the deepest location. I think the shape is now down. The rim will have large rocks that the liner will wrap under to head the liner around the edge.

I think this is it for the year. I will start buying pressurized filter and pump over the winter to start the pond up in the spring.

Well, crazy warm here in Canada, so I managed to finish the digging today, ready for liner and installing my tetra pump and pressurized filter soon. Pond store does,'t open until April 1st

so need to but pond liner protector and liner, I have pond plants in cold storage waiting for spring. Hand dug my 3rd pond in 3 years now. Guess I like digging ponds.

Looks good! It has been crazy hot here in Kansas, US, too. We should be 50F and we have been in the 80's!!!!!

Should be ready to put liner in next couple weeks. Took some pics from the iPad of the pond and the seating area to watch the pond from. Measured liner at 25 feet by 18 feet.

Approx volume 750 gallons

Are you at all worried about getting pool water splashed into the pond? Assuming you chlorinate your pool that seems like it would be a bad thing. I don't have a pool or a pond so Im just asking without having any knowledge...

I am converting to salt pool which lowers the chlorine level in the pool. It's a concern but small amount of splashing should be ok as it's mostly salty water

Liner underpayment is in with two layers. 45 mil pond liner is in. Filling pond for water height test and will trim the liner once the water has flattened out the liner .
