I don't have an exact date yet. I still need to sell a couple hundred more dollars worth of stuff before I have the capital to place the order. It's possible that it could be here this month, but the 1st half of next month is more likely.

No, and sadly, I don't think I will be able to sell any of them. They appear to have a bacterial infection, and I won't sell sick shrimp. Even if I'm able to save some, I probably won't sell them.

Sorry

It is sad. It's been a difficult lesson for me. If I want to really make a business out of this I have to be prepared to see this happen once in a while. It's been one of the most trying times in the growth of this little operation. My fiance and I are both pretty sensitive people when it comes to the lives and well being of our pets, and we consider every shrimp, fish, cat, and rabbit that we have to be members of the family.

It's heart breaking to watch a couple hundred shrimp slowly die, and not really be able to do much about it. Let alone the loss of money that it's been.

It almost convinced us to give up on the business. We'll be importing shrimp again, but this has slowed things down quite a bit for us.

Aww horrible I hope they get better quickly for ya then!

I'm assuming your using paraguard and/or something else? That seemed to clear up any cloudy/black spotted shrimp for me..

In the meantime, Best of luck to you, the shrimpy, and the business!

Sorry to hear. Do you have good flow and filtration in that tank? My buddy had a bacterial infection when his sponge filter seemed too small for the tank...as soon as he added some hang ons, the infection went away.

Yea, I always run HOB's or canisters in conjunction with any sponge filters. I'm pretty sure it was an issue from the farm. I only use remineralized RO water and have been doing massive water changes along with medications. I think I'll probably be able to save 10-20 of them, but I'm not going to sell them. I don't want to risk selling someone a "carrier" or something.

I'd rather take the loss myself than chance introducing something to someone else' tank that wipes out their shrimp.

I think things will go better next time. I'm talking with a different breeder, and hope to have things solidified with them and be ordering from them next time.

I appreciate everyone's kind words.
