DIY device to drain and fill water?
Hi, I have heard of some that have a DIY device that uses pipes etc... to drain and fill their tank with just piping plumbed directly into a drain, and filled by just turning a valve...
I have searched and searched the DIY section with no luck... I know its recommended for larger tanks. I just have a 75 gal. but have not set it up yet and wanted to do this to make my life a little easier. Anyone got step by step instructions? Thanks Josh |

Normally this would be done with bulkheads and a drilled tank. You put a ball valve on the stand pipe and can either hard plumb the lines or just use a hose with the correct fitting on the stand pipe.

Not really sure what you mean stand pipe? but what I gather is that I need to drill a hole in the bottom or side of my tank? If im using a all-glass aquarium standard 75 gal. tank, im guessing I cannot drill a hole?
How practical is this? or should I stick with just using my python? Thanks Josh |
