Thoughts/Advice on my new 75g Planted Tank

Thanks again Kathyy! I do enjoy my corys and plecos. I have thought about doing Co2 dosing but I feel like it gets pretty expensive. Am I mistaken?

As for the plants I think most are thriving other than the algae issue. The Lace as I mentioned I will probably just move to my cooler Betta tank.

Also are there any other plants that are great warmer water/amazon based plants that would do well in my tank?

Hi you can get a pretty decent set up for around $150-200 maybe even less if you are patient and thrifty. An Aquatek regulator solenoid needle valve combo will run you around $80 on Amazon i would suggest a in line reactor which you can build for around $30 and all that is left is a 5-10 lb tank and gas.

You can bypass the reactor and go straight in the Inlet of the canister and craigslist can often yield a tank for under $50 that can be filled for around $25 at praxair.

So is it expensive? Your call but you will need to fertilize at some point or decide to go lower light and let nature fertilize for you but everything will be slower growing look at my 75 gal journal and you can see the amount of growth I had with co2 a little less light than you and fertilizing the estimated index over just a few months.

But either way so far it looks great!

It really has been the key for me so far... Taking time to learn and read and ask questions... Don't get me wrong I have not yet "arrived " at tank nirvana by any means but as I learned it really has added to my enjoyment of my tanks... And I'm quickly finding there is alot of right ways to do things and even though sometimes it works for others it may not work for me and its all part of the fun of learning.
You have an awesome looking tank and a great eye for the scape so I'm looking forward to seeing how this grows.

One piece of solid hard earned advice I can give is with co2 management of changes is key. From the initial install to any adjustment easy does it and leave time to watch the inhabitants of the tank after changes to make sure all is well.

Weekend Update.

I rearranged the plants in the tank, added some Giant Hygro and some Jungle Val, removed the bubble bar for now and added a black background. Still think we are on the right track!

I also just added some Crypt Parva to the bottom right. Hopefully it will carpet out nicely.

Thanks! I think the last thing I want to buy is some Anubias nana for the big driftwood. I think it would look good.

I just bought a Hydor Koralia 750. Do you think that it will be to strong in a Discus Tank?

Man this tank looks awesome! I really love the driftwood and how the center is open. Looks fantastic I don't want to sound like I'm trying to advertise, but I have some l. Repens that would add a nice red/pink into the mix if your interested. Shoot me amok so we don't clutter your thread though.
