Need DIY plan for double 55g stand

Has anyone seen a plan for a double 55g setup? My LFS has a metal stand that houses one 55g on top at the traditional height and one 55g on the bottom. It is less than $100 but I am not crazy about the metal (although it is rather decorative.) Anyway, I was wondering if anyone has seen a similar pattern for a wooden stand where I could put one 55g on the bottom for my kids and my 55g on top. (BTW don't have either tank set up right now. Someone has one they are going to give me (which is the one I am going to use for my kids and I want to get another for myself.) Ideally there would be room for some sort of hood to cover the lighting but I can live with whatever. LOL.

Dawn,

DIY is going to to be a tough one for two 55's. You might get away with it depending on your goals. What are some of your plans for this tank? Something tells me the close proximity of the tanks makes it ideal for a pressurized system with a manifold.

I think Dawn is asking for some stand plans Jason, not CO2.

I have seen some plans around on some other sites, but I can't remember them off the top of my head. I will go do a search and get back to you later.

The problem with this one is that the bottom tank doesn't have any room for filters. You could also model your stand after the all glass aquarium stands.

A friend of mine has a homemade double 55 stand. He built it so the top 55 sits 6 inches farther back towards the wall. It gives him better access to the bottom tank without making the stand too tall. Just food for thought.
