in my 55gallon i have a green algae growing on my sand substrate that looks almost like a lawn, anyone have an idea what kinda algae it is?

Probably green alga of the genus Ulothrix, especially if the filaments don't branch.

Not sure. Maybe SAEs, rosy barbs, or Florida flag fish, if short of other foods.

I wish I had a lawn like that :lol: These only grow under very specific conditions, if you want to get rid of them I would try to change carefully things around... Fertilize more, or fertilize less, more or less light, more plants... just not everything at the same time. Often, once they disappear, they won't come back even if you go back to exactly what you were doing before.
I saw something like that growing on driftwood before... and it looked beautiful!
