3 weeks in.
New additions:
red ozelot sword
2 grow out ludgwigia
dwarf puffer had to separate I wanted to wait, but my pair started fighting eachother. I was hoping to keep them together.
Have a pic of my tiger loctus back side of tank very hard to take. Thought I was losing it the leaves were melting. Saw this morning 2 leaves poping out of substrate. One of them is already an inch high. Might still have to cut one of the bigger leaves that's on the glass it looks like it is getting holes and starting to melt.
On day 3 of diy co2. I'm using a gallon jug and the recipe for a 2 liter x's 2. I'm getting a bpm of a 140.

Thanks
I was scrolling through the post and it is amazing to see the difference in just 3 weeks. Looks like my babby tears are taking off.
I also added a sword behind ship.
I would like to plant something that would grow to top water and on top of water over bare area in front of wrecked ship. Any ideas would be appreciated.

One month in. Took starter fish back and got kulhia loaches in there place 8 of them.
Also new plants are crepping jeny, and dwarf hair grass. The dwarf hair grass came in a package with gel from petsmart washed off throughly before I put in.
The baby tears are starting to form a carpet instead of growing straight up. The tiger loctus has growen enough so you can see it in the front ,have to be standing though.
Went pressurized co2 and orderd a elite filter. Going to use this filter for a diffuser. If interested I saw this on you tube diy elite diffuser. I should get the filter between the 6th and the 12th. Will update again then.

Cool tank. Looks like a scene straight out of the show Lost. Jungle, shipwreck, caves.

Those caves would be perfect for some territorial fish, or maybe some pleco breeding

I'm stocked so far with:
3 wonder killi fish. They love the top and also hang out in the cave with the point it has an entrance and an exit. Probably why they prefer this one.
1 dwarf puffer the whole tank is his,as long as the others get out of his way he doesn't bother them.
6 kuhli loaches 2 black kuhli loaches. They hang out inside the shipwreck so far. They will scurry out to find food every once and a while. Always as a group.
2 ottos they go every where. Going to get 4-6 more but I'm going to wait a couple of weeks.
#? Ghost shrimp they hang out inside of hollowed out stump I believe I have 3 berried. You can see there eyes already. And there eggs are bright green, is this common?
1 dragon scale betta.
The only other thing I plan on adding is another dwarf puffer female. Also the ottos. And of course plants.

Very nice tank. I love that you worked some common aquarium ornaments into the scape. It looks great.

2 things.

1) Did you get the other LED's?

2) The ghost shrimp eggs will not survive. Once they break the egg the babies need saltwater to mature then as adults they go back to fresh. You may want to try some cherries if you want something to breed. But they are small, so make sure they don't end up as lunch. Keep up the good work man.

Thanks. I see your from Chicago I was just there. I went with some friends, with our kids ,to the lincoln park zoo. For pumpkin plod. After wards I took my son to two lfs there. One was closed by tue time we got there, the other was closing in a half hour. I bought my ozelot sword there.

No , I ended up getting an extreme nova double bulb. And an aqueon double bulb. I use the led as a night light.

I didn't plan on having ghost shrimp, only bought them as feeders. I thought they were being eaten so I was buying 4-6 a week. Stoped buying them as soon as I saw them scavenging.
Not worried about the eggs was just wondering if the bright green is natural. But if they will leave them alone I might try a couple of bee shrimp.

Got ya. Ghost shrimp are pretty long lived though. I have one that I bought 2 years ago and he is about 3 to 4 in long now. If you are gonna keep the ghosts you may want to wait on the other shrimp. Ghost shrimp may eat them if they are small enough.

I got the elite a lot faster than they claimed. I'm very happy with what I'm seeing ,going to have to cut back on my co2. Give a shout out to nico believe he's the one who started using this method.
