surprise surprise wanders never cease !

OK almost all my long algae is gone I really liked the way it looked on top the tree stump but now the stump is just that a stump . So what happened you ask, well I will tell you ! The ColorMax bulb burned out so I put the SunGlo in and the plants have perked up and have been doing better than before but after about 2 months all of the algae in the tank has really took a dive even the black stuff that was on the Java ferns is almost all gone Now I have been thinking about adding another 24" fixture with the FloraGlo bulb we have in it . So would this be a good idea for the plants or would it be counter productive because of an algae takeover ? I can add Jove Moss to the stump for a more natural look .
Oops I forgot to tell you the tank is low tech . It is the 29gal. in link below.

The picture is a bit blurry.

So you have a 29 gallon with just 1 T8 24in long? I have dual T5NO and a T8 over my 29 gallon tank.

Had read that before the bulbs die out they loose color which can cause algae.

Personally my favorite is the Life-glo. These are T8 bulbs?

Well it is the only moss that I can find in my local. Although it is messy it looks OK but would really like to go with one of the others if I could find it ! The Evansville Indiana area is almost a Aquatic Plant DESERT !!

Have you checked out the Swap & Shop section on the boards here? There are lots of people selling/willing to sell all kinds of moss. You can also get moss on sites like Aquatic Magic. But it'll probably be easier and cheaper finding someone on here through the Swap and Shop.

I know - Looks like shipping + the moss will run you about $14. Skip coffee and snacks this week. It'll be your gift to yourself
