Sewing thread ...
I use black sewing thread to attach my plants to driftwood, and for some reason when I took the wood out, the thread started to fall apart, and rip. It seems as they were not as strong as they used to be. Anybody encouter this problem before?

Cotton thread will rot in time. It's normal.

Well whatever you are trying to attach should have attached itself to the wood by the time the thread rots away. If you are using it to hold down plants that will never attach to anything, such as riccia, then I suggeast using fishing line as it will never rot.
