New to this forum and planted tanks!
Hi all,
I currently breed several different types of tropicals - angelfish, ABN, CPDs, bronze cory cats and have two ponds with guppies (just for the summer). I have added some natives recently - two types of pygmy sunfish (okefenokee and evergladai) and florida flagfish (SO fun to watch) and have them in planted - low tech tanks. I am adding some shrimp (just cause I like them!!) and am currently looking for plants that are appropriate for 10 gallon shrimp tanks. I am active on a couple of other fishy forums and look forward to learning from the wisdom contained on this site too. PS - I have already seen some familiar names from the other forums I frequent - nice to know I already have friends here! Thanks in advance,

Are you adding shrimp to the tank with the sunfish and flagfish?

No - I have 3 10 gallon "shrimp only" tanks I am setting up. If the RCS get out of hand I might put them in a few tanks as cleaners but my ABN do a good job of keeping the tanks pretty clean. I have the sunfish in tanks by themselves (the Okefenokee are in a 20H and the evergladai are in a 30L) and I have the flagfish in a 55 pretty much on their own - there are a few corys and an ABN in the tank and a few guppies that I haven't caught yet.

Moss are excellent plants for shrimp tanks. You can throw in a couple of manzanita branchs and wrap the moss around them to grow. That looks pretty cool when its all grown in.

Hey Joe thanks for the suggestion - I am not having any luck finding anyone who has a larger amount of different types of moss. Been trying for some Fissidens fontanus but at this point any low light, low tech, warmer water (80 degrees) moss would do. I have sent a couple of PMs to some sellers on this site but haven't heard back from them yet. I also have sent a message to a seller on aquabid - hopefully someone will respond soon. If you know of anyone please let them know what I am looking for. I can send them a paypal payment tonight!
Thanks greenember - glad to be here!

Welcome! It's great to see a neighbor! I am in Huntington, just a stone's throw from you. Where are you fishing the native fish from?
