I'm in Twin Falls and will be converting to african cichlids pretty soon, might be posting to S&S if/when I get a decision made. I don't want to quit my plants, but with school starting back up, I'm barely holding my head above water with tanks, kids, dogs etc. Good to see some other Idaho people around here!

I am in Boise. For the past few months I have gone from el natural, to DIY CO2.
I have a planted 40 gallon community tank with cherry shrimp and a 20 gallon garden tank with blue pearl and crystal. I also keep axolotls and marmorkrebs. I will be setting up pressurized CO2 this week. |

I am in Boise.
I have all freshwater tanks - a 125g, planted 75g, planted 20gL, and a lightly planted 29.

That is a major bummer. I saw that ad and it looked like a fantastic deal.

I found a baby cherry shrimp in my crystal tank a few days ago. I have no idea how it got there. I have not moved anything from any of my other tanks into the crystal tank.
Like the duckweed I believe cherry shrimp are able to travel through the air and deposit themselves in various open containers of liquid. They end up everywhere.

Oi, hey Rams, and Em! And Stullion! And... and Uncle Francis, the famous ivy tamer!
I had a 5 gallon I was trying to raise a copepod / daphnia culture in to use as live food, but I was actually having better luck just with jars on the windowsill, so I was cleaning it out the other day to turn it into a spare tank for rearing fry or to use as a quarantine, and found a half grown cherry shrimp crawling in the detritus on the bottom. No clue how it got there. It is right next to the shrimp tank, but that tank has a glass lid on it and I've never transferred anything between the two. I have to assume it crawled out and managed to make it to the other tank. |
