I am curious about how much light it too much. I am getting a 70gal 48" tank and I have two 24" All Glass PC lights right now. (55W each) I wanted to get close to 2.5W/gal for the lighting, but I can't find a 48" light that is going to be around 40W so I was thinking of just getting the 48" all glass PC that is another two 55W bulbs. This would give me 220W for the 70, or just a hair over 3W/gal...am I asking for trouble with this much light?

Thanks

If you also add CO2 and fertalizer you will be okay.

Ok, good to hear. I do have a pressurized CO2 system on it and have a steady flourish and root tab diet for the plants once I get them.

I got 220 watts of pc lighting over my 75 gal for roughly 3 wpg, and I'm thinking about adding some more. It really is difficult to have too much light if your fertilizing and adding CO2. The only drawback to too much light other than making sure the ferts are available is pruning more than you'd like.
