Riccia Wall?
Did anyone tried this before? Is it possible to have a wall made of riccia. I am planning to have a wall in my 10G. I was thinking on xmas fern but this idea came to me.
Any suggestions? I have a 36w from Ah supply and nutrafin CO2 system. |

I suppose it is possible. Most people make moss walls. The thing with Riccia is, it is much more light hungry than mosses. The vertical wall has a little less light intensity due to its angle, something to consider. Another thing is, riccia is higher maintanance, chunks might float up from time to time. Worth a try though.

tanx shalu...One more question. Most of the people say %95 of the plants are okay with hard water. Mine is 175 ppm. And what I found riccia likes soft water. That means I cannot grow riccia in these conditions?

I don't think hard water is a problem for Riccia. Your water is not that hard. I have seen picture of riccia growing beautifully in water at least twice as hard as yours.

Thats great to know. Thanks a lot for the info. You didnt mean that 36w in a 10G tank is not enough light by saying light should be my concern right?
