The selection of "plant growth" T8's is still sparse compared to what is available in T12's.
Has anyone found inexpensive 32W T8's comparable to Gro-Lux or P&A bulbs? In single bulb quantities? Don't really want to buy a 50-pack

I am in the same boat as you are, Wasserpest. I'm trying very hard to find T8 bulbs with a nice color spectrum (6500K) for a reasonable price. My preferred lamps would be the Phillips Alto Plus bulbs (F32T8/TL865 PLUS/ALTO Bulb). However, in the stores these bulbs are over $10 (in New York City) and on the web I can only find cases for sale ($3.75 per bulb).

Does anyone else in New York need these bulbs? Would people want to combine on shipping and share a case? Does anyone know where to by T8 fluorescents with 6500K in the City or individually on the web? Let me know... mario

I really can't buy the pack of tubes and store it in my apartment. My girlfriend would kill me and then take one of my tanks away.

Check your local hydroponics shops, and maybe the local industrial lighting supply outlet. Many of these places may not stock the bulbs, but can order them for you, and they should have a great selection to choose from.....

It is not so difficult to find a 6500K bulb like this one http://www.grainger.com/Grainger/pro...mId=1611678924 in local lighting shops. I was more thinking about a bulb specifically suited for plants, you know with spikes in the red and blue spectrum, but still at a reasonable price.
Looks like there is nothing like that on the market.
