This just annoys me! All these people NEEDED to go out during the storm (despite the dire warnings) on of all places, LAKE SHORE DRIVE. Then they had to be rescued! Sure, maybe a few of them actually needed to be there - but I bet many didn't.

Yup. Very cold.
We just got back from Thailand so it was an extra-big shocker. I hate cold!

I didn't mind the snow.
But what I did mind was the nearly 2" of ice....I can walk across my yard and not sink at all. Just to be a smart-A to my girlfriend, I drove the car across the yard.....barely cracked it!

Guess who's picking up tab for towing, tax payers. All these drivers were warned yet they still chose to drive out, they should be charged for towing services.

Ive enjoyed this Snowpocalypse, no work! Here in Mid-Missouri we have 18"-48" depending on where you measure
18" is the official count. BTW they actually called in the national guard. Seen several Humvee's while i was out yesterday.

So I left RI to have nice weather while in college (then to go north for skiing, don't get me wrong I love snow) but it is in the THIRTIES this week, the fountains are freezing up. What is funny is barely anyone has winter jackets. I'm really glad I brought mine to ski in, never thought I'd wear it around campus. There were 25-35 mph winds gusting yesterday too.
Back in RI they got a mix of snow rain and ice. All of the snow melted and turned to slush then at night it all became frozen. Dangerous stuff, thats for sure. -Andrew

Since when have the masses really paid attention to warnings about the weather and heeded the advice? Lots of people still work in the Loop. Unfortunately, if you live along the lakefront up north a good ways, LSD (er, Lake Shore Drive for those outside of Chicagoland) is really the only practical route to take for most drivers.

Americans and their scare of snow... this is a monthly occurance for us Canadians.... today it was 32f .... i went to school in a long sleeved tshirt.
And at 32F, most of the city is praising how nice the weather is. |

Now we knew about this storm in advance and LSD should have been closed but it wasn't and by then it was too late. It was just a stupid move on the city's part. |
