6.3 Gallon Nano

Well this one started out and was initialy purchased for a small QT tank. Ive been using it for about 4 months now as a isolation tank for my male betta that took a beating from a female to help heal his fins in a saline solution. Hes all healed up now and Ive decided its going to be his new permenant home.

The tank itself is more tall than wide and isnt that deep, but it does the trick! So as for filtration Im using a pretty poor CristiProfi 100 internal filter that came with it. But for the stock im going to house that should do fine. If needed I can upgrade in the future.

Plants! Well for the plants Ive stuck to low light and low nutrient requiring plants that are suited to nano tanks. They are;

• Anubias Barteri on a small peice of driftwood (for some added hardscape)
• Ceratophyllum Demersum for background plants to cover heater and filter
• Cryptocoryne Becketii as a mid to rear ground
• 2 Sagittaria Subulata as front ground plants

The tanks all planted now, just need to take some pictures of the whole setup. Not really scaped to perfection, or any standard really but I like it. The plants all seem to be doing well too!

My good old Betta died recently of dropsy Im gutted to be honest. But on the up side my nano got its first inhabitants apart from my diseaced betta. I got hold of some Celestial Pearl Danios in which the pictures are to come! There colours are amazing already, there such little gems. I have found I have to leave the room for them to feed as they are really shy and finicky eaters when Im there.

I promised myself I wouldnt add another Betta unless I found a real beauty. So I did some searching around my area (I ventured quite far out in the end) and found a really good Betta Splendens Crown Tail by English standard. Here he is bellow

Hey guys. Been a while since I update this tank. Ive been drowing in Uni work and assignments for the past month and a bit. Still, the tank and all its inhabitants are doing fine. Only problem has been the loss of one CPD. Dont know how I lost it, just seemed to have disappeared, as happens sometimes. Water parameters were all spot on, no disease, diet is fine, so its a mystery.

The plants are doing well. No signs of deficientcies or illness. So the Ferropol 24 in which I dose when I can remember seems to be doing fine. But I did select these plants due to their low nutrient needs as well as low light needs. Well done me ! Here are some picture bellow, you can just make out some of my CPD's in one of them, but there really shy and illusive! Thanks again!

Hey guys just asking for some advice! One of my LFS has some Cory. Hasbrosus. Will my 23L be to small for them or will they do fine? I do 50% W/C weekly so bio-load build up is no issue. Currently with my 3 CPD's and a single CT Betta it seem a little bare on the fauna front. So what do you guys think? Thanks again!

corys need more room and should be in groups of 4 or more. maybe you would enjoy some oto cats? maybe 2?

Thanks very much friend, my girlfriend has named him 'Sebastian Belle', have no clue why. But as the above post states I've researched many sites and the minimum is 3. And considering they grow to 1.5cm max it should be fine? Any more input guys? Thanks again!

A couple of weeks ago I spoke with my LFS and they had some Corydoras hasbrosus in! YAY! I've been looking for them for a while and wanting them for my nano setup. They settled in very quickly and root around all day and seem real happy. When they get tired they rest on my massive Anubias leaves. I hope to snap a nice picture of this! Plants are doing well, I want to purchase some Rootmedic tabs soon to improve the growth as there is no ferts added at all in this tank. Some look a bit wiery and could do with some nutrients. I will post some pictures tomorrow!
