Where to get CO2 bottle in OC/S. CA?

Hi,

Where can I buy a 5lb CO2 bottle in Orange County or some where close to there? I tried calling some welding company locally and strangely got nothing but voice mail messages. How much does this usually goes for?

I don't have a yellow pages in front of me, but I got my tank refilled at a home brew store off of Crown Valley. They sold new 5 lb. bottles there, and I recall them being reasonable. I bought my 2.5 lb. bottle from beveragefactory.com (out of San Diego). The home brew store fills CO2 for something like $5 if I recall correctly.

I ordered both of mine through Aquatic-Store.com
The place that Marc drop ships from is out here sorta near the Irvine Spectrum. This way I got a killer deal on my bottle and didn't have topay taxes or shipping

I called a local fire extinguisher company and they told me it cost $15.15 to fill a 5lb bottle. Does this sound right? I never done this before, so I dont' know what's reasonable or not. They can fill it as long as there are no marking on the bottle.

They sell 5lb bottle filled for $91 dollars, what do you guy think?

I got a 10lb bottle for $100 (empty), plus about $20 filling. I guess $91 for a filled 5lb isn't too bad.

Here in Newfoundland Canada I got my very nice 5 pound aluminum bottle for $120 Canadian dollars at the local brew shop (special order - 5 days). I got it filled that same day at a local "compressed gas" type company that shall remain nameless for $20.00 and now 11 months later I got it re-filled and the same "compressed gas" type company on a very very stormy blizzard day and they did it for free... saying I was brave enough to venture out - I earned it :-)

5lb bottle costs you $60. Refills at Spectrum Gas in Costa mesa off of Logan will cost you $8.

...$68 or $91...you make the call.


This is for an aluminum tank...not the cheaper, heavier, and rustable steel ones. See what the fire extinguisher place is offering for $91.
