Up here in Canada, most fully submersible heaters are listed as "non-submersible" with a CSA logo/warning on it.
I've actually noticed the two exact products, one up here, and one down in the states, and the one up here has the CSA logo printed on it, and the one down in the States didn't.

Even if you are to buy a fully submersible heater up here, it will still say on the product directly, or on the packaging, to not fully submerse below a certain level.

she finally got a home!!!! and since its beside my other tank i can run a co2 line to it without spending for a new kit!!!!

OH and a second EBI is on the way, i have place for 2 ..... saving a fortune on co2 since they are all side by side, everything is easier including water changer all in one shot and all the lighting is on the same timer....

this is great!

How did you get the water clear after using the included substrate, I like the substrate but it is really hard to get clear, I rinsed it well, and while its clear now, I had to clean the filter 3 times of clogged up substrate dust and such.

You just need to be carefully when you add the water. Mine doesn't cloud up at all.

Mine didnt cloud at all either...The only cloud I had was the sponge filter I seeded it with & that cleared in about an hour...BTW AVANDSS did you figure out the heater problem??

Yeah I guess I wasn't being careful enough, I rinsed it well, then put a cup in the tank and poured over the cup, if I try to do anything in the tank move something around etc, brown dust everywhere again..not sure if im doing something wrong with this fluval stuff or what

Where did you purchase the second light in Montreal ?

Also, Are you satisfied with the 13W lamps ? I've returned mine to the shop because the power block emits an annoying buzzing sound ...they compared mine with the lighting on their demo tank and found the same "problem" ... so they did not replace it...

Have you noticed a quite loud "buzzing sound" on yours ?
