A Sulawesi Garden [5.5g]

No pic today, but I am in the process of making this tank for my Malawa Shrimp. These are the current specs:

Well not much going on, I took out the driftwood and added a piece of petrified wood in it's place. But the Blue Dot Matano don't like it cuz they don't march on it like they do on the Lace Rock. I guess they don't like "wood" even though its been petrified.

I had 8 of them but now I'm down to 4, I guess the others died and got eaten by the other inhabitants. I will take a picture of the petrified wood tomorrow when the lights come on!

Was the "rock" well seasoned? They won't pick over it if no food...

Please don't be discouraged, we all have our trials with these shrimp. Still must have more! I have some new coming tomorrow from a good friend. I hope all goes well this time, I feel I am much more prepared & confident for their survival.

No, I just switched it yesterday. I don't think the Lace Rock was seasoned either cuz I bought it couple days before I got the shrimp, but they pretty much start marching on the Lace Rock immediately. I guess my guys just prefer to have Lace Rock over any other type of rocks hahaha. Everything but the rocks has been running for a several months now.

Just makes me a little sad and worried that I can't see all of them at the same time. I wanted to keep track of them cuz if I can't find them I think they are dead... well half of them did but still...

The lace rock has alot more holes and pits for stuff to get trapped in, thats probably why they like it better. Its looking good tho.
