Moody's 25 Gallon *56K*

I guess it's time to start up a journal for my 25 gallon. Everything has kind of been in a holding pattern for a while now, but I'm getting less busy and I'll probably be adding more plants soon.

25 gallon Aqueon
Dual Coralife T5NO
SunSun 302
100w submersible heater
Gravel Substrate
Locally collected DW
Paintball co2 diffused through powerhead

Fauna:

13x Neon Tetras
4x Corys
9587925 RCS
Some snails

Flora:

2x Baby Java Ferns
Moss Wall
Random hitchhiker stem plant
Some Pelia
Lilaeopsis chinensis

The moss walls a great idea for a low tech. Interested to see what it looks like several months from now.

I sewed it onto the mesh background with fishing line. It took forever but I didn't want to sandwich it between two pieces because I figured it'd take even longer to grow out. As it fills in some more I plan on trimming it back down and covering the edges up completely.

I'll definitely keep taking pics so you all can see it fill in.

I got hooked up at Petsmart with these stems for 5 bucks. I couldn't pass it up...



I think it's Ludwigia repens, but correct me if I'm wrong. I've heard it doesn't like low light but I guess we'll see.

Yeh that is Ludwigia repens. You can get them to adjust by dosing Potassium sulfate. Brightwell best I feel and shipment $0 to $3 from LNT.

Is K2O metabolized differently from K2SO4? I only ask because I'm already dosing K2O and would like to avoid complicating things at all if possible.

I should have paid more attention in chemistry/biology.

Edit: I did a little bit of research and now feel more dumb. I think I'll go ahead and order the potassium sulfate from that link and call it a day. Thanks again.

A little over a week has gone by and the ludwigia seems to be hanging in there. I also moved them around a bit.

looks good, but l am curious as to why you didn't cut the mesh as long as the width of the glass? moss doesn't really like to stick to glass

When I made it I was using 2 hob filters and the intakes were on both sides. I'm planning on fixing it as soon as it grows out.
