LIC if you to fishtown USA they have a 79 cent tank with assorted fish. Rummy nose bleeding/red eye tetra some albino tetras and 2 or 3 other typed of schooling fish and about 6 otos. N e thing in the tank is 79 cents. I didn't want them cuz I have 4 that are useless. Not zebra tho but for 79 cents who cares lol.

LOL. No it's not me posting on franks forum. Coincidence. Seems like they're really hard to find though. Since I'm kind of going to be risking them by putting them with dwarf puffers, maybe I should just get the regular ones.

It's hard to find zebra otos here. I have been loking for them for quite a while too but I already have my tanks full of the regular ones.
For 79 cents I'd say go get them if you will be trying to mix them up with your puffers.

LIC, it seems puffers are fine with otos from what I've read from multiple sources, shouldn't be a problem. They are pretty much the only fish puffers leave alone.

BTW here were the condition of the scarlet badis from New World Aquarium taken on Dec 2nd about 20 mins after I got home from the store and transferred them from a bag to a container to begin acclimating them...

$10 each... ugh... the lighting in the store is so bad that I could barely see the fish. I was told they eat "blackworms" which I figured were a little too big for them but I bought some extras from the store anyways... and brine shrimp... The male wouldn't eat at all... I even had some baby brine shrimp at home... Yesterday it looked like it was on its death bed... laying on the gravel occasionally making a last ditch effort to swim every now and then. Do they always sell fish that are in such terrible shape?

I can confirm this. I checked their stock list and they are on them. If they don't have them ask them what day they order fish and ask them to put it on the list and they'll have it the next day. They spell them as "Otocinclos"

Usually their shipment comes on Wednesday. you can ask Manager if s/he can order them for you...they usually do. I always had luck....

Dude! Those fish looks like they have fish TB kinda thing....if they are not in Quarantine tank....then remove them immediately and do water change unless you want to take chance with other fish....JFS~

Yeah I've tried them once with my DPs. Didn't work out so well (poor otos had nipped fins and I had to move them to another tank). Now that the DPs are older I'm hoping things will work out.

Thanks OoglyBoogly and Joraan for the info. I'll go check out a Petland discount. Fishtown US is too far for me since I don't have a car.

@OoglyBoogly - I've gotten plenty of fish from New World Aquarium. I've never seen any in such bad shape as your scarlet badis. Poor things. They're in good hands now.

Oh, poor poor badis. I bought fish from New World Aq before, never sick. Their tanks are usually in very good shape. How are they doing?
