Disappearing Fry?

Assuming that the cartridge borrowed had been in a cycled tank holding fish for at least two weeks, then it would easily support the numbers of fish you presently have.

Okay thanks guys. I still haven't found the "dead" fry but my parameters are back to normal thanks to me switching the cartridge.
