Java ferns sending out wierd shoots?
What are the fuzzy brown shoots that look like roots coming off of my Java ferns? They are all sending out wierd fuzzy legs that are attaching themselves to the log they are resting on. Anyone seen this before?

Thats a good sign and perfectly normal...they are the roots. They can be trimmed if they get too ugly. I trim mine regularly and I believe the plants respond well to a trimming.

Wow, cool, I knew a lot of my other plants are sending out roots everywhere, but I thought maybe I'd morphed some new species, ha ha!!!

thats awesome, soon they will send out little leaves, and new baby java fern rhizomes will grow on the leaf. when they get big enough (4-5 inches long, 4-5 leaves/rhizome), cut/pinch them off and you can replant them. Bi-weekly, i get 1/8 pound of babies. its just crazy.
