White Algae/Fungus on Glass & Plants?

Sorry, no pics, too small to see anyways..

Past week or so I've had an appearance of white spots all over the frontal glass and sporadically on some plants. It does take a couple scrubs to get it off with an algae pad, and it does appear to grow on the glass. I had been battling a green water battle for probably 2 months, and had finally cleared it up by doing bi-weekly 50%+ water changed (with tap water which is hard & alkaline ).

I had a sudden outbreak of cyanobacteria, which still appears to be going on, but then this white crud came up. I'm familiar with seeing the fuzz that can grow on rotting things, like driftwood, etc, but have no idea what this is. It almost looks like a bunch of tiny white flowers coming from a central area where it attaches. It's not hydra's either.

Reminds me of this:

Water is clearer than ever, and I am doing a bi-weekly 25% water change. Everyone appears to be alot healthier since the green water, and I feed only right before I do a water change. 110 watts over a 20 long, no filtration, just a powerhead w/ a DIY co2 injector on it. Tank has been setup for approx 3 months, heavily stocked. No egg laying snails. Only egg-layers I might have 'pairs' of are oto's and corry's.

Any ideas? I've wiped it off the glass, yet it comes back, so it woud seem 'alive'. No salt is used, no chemicals, no fertilizers, nothing, just a sprinkle of food and 5 gallons of water twice a week.

I know the stuff. I don't know what it is. Wish I had a scope so I could check it out. Mine went away after a while so perhaps you can pretend you don't see it and hope yours leaves also.

I'd love to hear from someone who knows what it is. Bump.

does it look like this?

In my last tank this stuff grew on my drift wood and carpeted all over my gravel. Sanitizing the tank was the only way i got rid of it.
