RCS cluster

Sorry for the side picture but can anyone explain why my shrimp are doing this. They are all gathered on the cord of my heater and even if I shake them off they come back to the same spot. There isn't any food or anything that would gather them to this source.

My temp and water are fine. I just checked it.

This is the first time they have done this so I'm kinda curious if anyone might know why they are doing this.

Thanks,

Too much co2 or too little oxygen maybe? Looks like they are trying to get to the surface where there is more o2/less co2.

If its not that then I dunno. Mine cluster to feed on the pre filter sponge. It's creepy... Like roaches.

My RCS only do this for a food source. Maybe some algae at the top of that cord? My other guess would be as mentioned above... Looking for oxygen.

I have 10 cory in the same tank and they seem to be fine so I'm not sure if it's oxygen or not.

I don't have co2 in the tank and it's full of anacharis and other plants so I would think the oxygen levels should be good.

I put some food in there to try and get them down but they won't budge.

I also found another group on the down spout of my filter and hanging onto my glass cleaner magnet? I've had these shrimp for over a year and I've never seen this behavior.

It's probably some source of micro food that you can't see.
