First Time

This is my first "nano" setup. It is just a 1 gallon jar, some sand, and a light.
Add some water an a few plants and this is what I got.

Let me know what you think so far

Thanks
Mike

Looks alright, but isnt that light pretty darn close? I would raise it higher or lower the jars water level.

Also where did you get your plants? It looks like youve got a plant that somewhat resembles a crypt. Dunno if its a crypt but it should have the same planting style. You shoud bury the roots up to where the plants emerge from. Thats how i bury my crypts so it works.

Looks nice, but it'd look better if it was in a rectangle shape type jar.

The plants came from my 55 gallon tank, and I am not sure what the grass type plant is but the other on is an Aponogeton crispus. The light looks closer than it is but I did lower the water level. I had the crispus buried up to where the plant emerges in my big tank, and it was dying, so I figured I would try this and so far it is coming back with the 2 new leaves you see in the pic.

Thanks again,
Mike
