Flourish line

Hey all,

I just got my 6 gallon setup. Now I've got a question regarding the Flourish line of products. The two that I got are "Flourish Excel carbon" and "Flourish comprehensive plant supplement". I noticed that the supplement only provides micronutrients, so do I need to pick up the macronutrients as well? If so, should I pick up all threeL N, P, and K? I only ask because they're a bit pricey

Yeah, you're going to need the full line of Flourish products to keep the plants happy.

Flourish lines for NPK are too expensive.
Go to www.gregwatson.com for your macro nutrients. That is what I do. I use only Flourish and Flourish Iron from Flourish line.

I use spectracide stump remover for KNO3, it is $5 a pound and should last a loooong time in a 6 gallon. But if you are running a lowlight setup you will not need it.

Green light stump remover (potassium nitrate) can be found at Lowes or Ace hardware stores. Comes in 16oz bottles and cost around $3-$5, I have 4 tanks and been using one bottle for over a year with a lot more left.

Good luck finding the stuff at this time of year though. I've looked at both stores and came up with nothing.

That may be so but then you have to pay shipping & wait on the product. I'm not saying not to order from Greg but just something to think about. If you order more than the one product from Greg then it would be worth the money because he does have a great prices on his products & a great reputation, but then you still have the wait. Oh, well
