Melon Sword flower?
Over the past few days I've been watching a flower stalk on an Echinodorus Osiris slowly making it's way to the top of the tank. This morning it has reached the surface and I'm wondering whether it will continue to grow out of the water or if it will start to lay down and grow across the surface. I have covers over the tank.
Also, will the bud actually flower and then produce plantlets or do the younguns develop straight away? |

The answer is so obvious, I can't believe you don't know. It is going to develop into a big watermelon!

Depends on the plant and how thick the runner is. Most of the time it will grow strait out, flower, set plantlets and then bend over under the weight of the plantlets.
