What are the best bulbs in combination ?
I can choose 2 of these bulbs (all 55W PC) 1. Freshwater Tropical - 50% white 7100K / 50% pink 8000K 2. Freshwater Plant - 50% blue 12000K / 50% pink 8000K 3. Daylight - 7100K I'm thinking 1&2. But - I may not get any as there are some T5 lights specially designed to fit in the Juwel tanks coming out soon.... |

No, 12000K is not a typically used value for plant bulbs.

I chose 2 & 3 1 & 2 will be too pinky, a plant bulb and full spec light would be good (2&3) I suspect 1 & 3 would be ok aswell, but not my first choice. Also the plant bulb at the front daylight at the back.

They will be available in the following sizes and will be a direct profile replacement for existing T8 lighting units. The units will be supplied with ATI Aqua Blue Special lamps and their Super Reflectors which are at least 10% brighter than any standard aluminum version and incorporate easy to replace reflective strips. ATI T5 Retro Fit Juwel Light Unit 2 x 24w 800mm ATI T5 Retro Fit Juwel Light Unit 2 x 39w 1000mm ATI T5 Retro Fit Juwel Light Unit 2 x 54w 1200mm ATI T5 Retro Fit Juwel Light Unit 2 x 54w 1500mm ..and they are apparently available from this week...but they're not - I checked. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------- I decided not to go for the Juwel units as I still can't get enough light from them. As for the poll, it seems so close I think I'll go for 2 & 3. I think it would be silly not to choose the plant specific bulb to provide the long (red) and short (blue) wavelengths that are req'd for photosynthesis. I agree that 1&2 will be too pink. Any reasons why this is the wrong choice ? |
