Default 20G Long Sunsun Canister Decisions

I'll be running a fresh water tank. I am having issues deciding between these 2 canisters and seeing what you guys would recommend.

Sunsun 302 or Sunsun 303a.

This is what equipment will be ran with it:
16mm Ebay Lily Pipes
Hydor ETH 201 In-Line Heater
Finnex Fugeray 30" LED (high light)
CO2

I'd get the 303a. How are you running co2 for that light?

Haven't decided on whether to run DIY or regular.

You'll need pressurized unless you plan to raise the light or somehow filter it to reduce the intensity. Otherwise it will cause massive algae issues.

Are you set on SunSun? While many have had solid experience with them, there's little to no support beyond the point of purchase. So if something breaks, it's up to you to resolve it.

Filters from companies like Eheim and Fluval cost a bit more up front but are also covered under warranty and replacement parts are relatively affordable and easy to find. For a 20gal long, you should be able to get a great filter for $100-ish.

As far as the Fugeray, you won't encounter massive algae issues without CO2 but would definitely be better off having it. Using a couple pieces of fiberglass window screen between the light and the tank will allow you to remain in the low light range. Without the screen material, you'd only be at about 50ish PAR. That's enough for a little bit of algae if your photoperiod is too long. I use the 30" fixture for six hours per day on a 20L and have no algae issues.

Somewhat shocked is right on the filter though. I have a sunsun 302 for over a year and it is still running strong. I also have an eheim 2213. The eheim was 80 shipped. You can get a 2217 for 125 shipped from big al's pets with the coupon code. I can say hands down that the sunsun works, by let the eheim is just better. It is quite, better built and parts are everywhere.

I ended up ordering the Sunsun 303a for $64 shipped. Did the best offer approach on [Ebay Link Removed] The only thing I can see being a issue is the oring, but they are replaceable.

I am also going to run a two 2 liter DIY CO2 system.
