Default 12" FugeRay Question

I am looking at upgrading my light but ran into a slight problem.

My tank is a 13in cube (Aqueon Evolve 8). Would the 12in light be long enough and will the legs expand enough for me to be able to rest the light on the tank?

Yes, I have the 16" on my tank which is 17" at the point it sits at (its a half-round tank). I wouldn't go any further than 1" longer than the light is though. I also have a 12" on another tank. I love these lights.

Yes, as 2RDHEDZ noted, I would not go further than 1" out. Anything under would be fine!

I'm using the Fugeray 12" on my Evolve 8, using the legs to have the light raised above the tank (I took the top off the evolve) and the light is perfect for these tanks. I have beautiful blyxa and a dense carpet of HC.

Oh awesome! Are you running CO2 as well?

It will be pressurized soon, but I'm using really really basic DIY co2, I don't even really keep up to it like I should but I mainly dose excel every day. Everything is thriving and is super healthy. I have to mow the lawn of HC about once a week.

I actually measured my tank today and apparently Petco's product description is off because it is actually 12in haha, so perfect!

Now just to figure out if the Fugeray gives off enough light to be high tech with CO2 or if a Ray2 is needed.

Check out the PAR chart to see if it will work for you. Like I said earlier, my same setup has co2 and excel being dosed and the light is strong enough to grow a dense HC carpet and nice blyxa. Also had a nice carpet of dwarf hairgrass with that setup until I got bored of the hairgrass look.
