Here are my two low tech tanks. Basic filtering and 1 of 2 tanks has a heater, both are lit by a 10 watt fluorescent light.

On the heater directions it says not to keep near AC, heat, or light sources. But if most aquariums have lights, how do you not have a light on the tank that has the heater? Here is the light and heater I have

Also, does anyone have a reccomendation for a light cycle with this light and these tanks, like how long it should be on and then how long it should be off? Or can it stay on 24/7?
