Help with German Rams

Hi guys & girls,

Hoping for some help here with my new German Rams.
Looking for some opinion as to whether or not I've got a boy and a girl!
I know there is a few discussions on various threads here, but I would appreciate a second opinion!
My LFS did their best, but I'm not 100% sure about the boy, as it seems to have very dark bands on the pelvic fins?

IMO you definitely have a female in the 2nd picture. Does the 'male' in the first picture have blue dots on the scales in a black circle? Some people sex GBRs that way, not just by the dark stripes on the pelvic fins.

The second is 100% for sure a female, only females have that pink stomach.
I think the first one is a male, too, but it's hard to be sure.

Thanks everyone, appreciate the help. The LFS was pretty convinced about the male, but the pelvic black stripes threw me!
They seem to be pretty happy in their new home, and have been inseparable all day!

I know that bolivian ram males can appear to be colored more like a female. it's kind of neat because the dominant male views them as a female and allows them in his territory. then while the dominant guy is away, the "cross dresser" can mate with the female and steal the original male's turf. talk about a homewrecker! I'm not sure if this behavior applies to the GBRs though.

UPDATE!!!
I can confirm they are a happy pair! They found a quiet spot of bogwood earlier today, and are now tending a clutch of 50+ eggs!!! All after less than 48 hours in the tank! Anyone with an insight as to how to increase the chances of them becoming fry?!! Very excited!!

1 bamboo shrimp

Fed fish flake and bloodworm pellet daily
Once weekly blanched spinach and frozen bloodworm

25% weekly water changes

try to fit a sponge over your filter intake. that'll keep 'em from getting sucked up. the parents will guard the eggs, and sometimes even eat them. it may take a few tries for your parents to get it right. you will hopefully notice them "fanning" the eggs. this is done to keep the eggs getting good water circulation.

It's debated whether or not you should remove the eggs and put them in a breeder, or let the parents do their thing. I will be getting some GBRs in about a month and will hopefully be seeing the same results as you! very awesome that you got these results!!
