Question about algae on plants

Tank specs: 30g heavily planted tank w/ HOB filter (Aquaclear 70), root tabs, Aqueon full spectrum bulb. Lights are on about 8 to 10 hrs/ day. Pretty low-tech.

Plants:
Ulvaceus
Sunset Hygro
BL Ludwig
Tiger Val
Moneywort
Reinecki
Crypt Lutea

The problem I'm having is algae growing on the top part of my Ulvaceus' leaves. I've only had the tank up maybe 1.5 to 2 months and the Ulvaceus grew A LOT faster than anticipated. Leaves are reaching the top of the tank (and blocking a lot of light from other plants...again unexpected). Is there a way to remove algae other than snipping off the infected leaves? Is it too late to move the Ulvaceus so it's not blocking light from the other plants? I searched for related articles but couldn't find much that was useful. The Ulvaceus is on the opposite end of the tank from the HOB...would it help to have it closer to it (for increased oxygen on its leaves to reduce algae)? First planted tank, any help appreciated.

Sorry should've specified. No it's not hair algae its brown algae.

How old is the bulb? I believe that an old (over a year) bulb can put out light in the wrong spectrum and encourage more algae than plant growth. That and the color temp of the bulb--which should be around 5000 - 6700K.

The bulb is brand new, bought about a month ago. I wish I had the specifics but I threw the box away

Brown algae is very common in newly established tanks. Many will see it come and go over the first 3 to six months. At worst it is unsightly, though not harmful.

As for your question of cleanup on, you should be able to simply wipe it off the leaves. Gently with your fingers or a soft toothbrush should work.

I tried getting some of it off last night and it came off quite easily. A soft toothbrush might work also, I'll try that. The leaves are just so fluffy and gorgeous I don't want to snip them. Might get an Oto or 2 to help also...thanks!
