I have a 45g 4' tank that was CO2 and HO lights. It also had every type of algae I could think of no matter what I did.
So I took out the Co2 and changed to six 14W spiral CFLs with reflectors. I picked out every bit of algae I could and scrapped all the plants except for my Anubias that I kept after a bleach bath. I'm already starting to get algae back in the tank. What plants do I want to fill it with to suck up the bad stuff? Thanks Chris
