Berried cardinal

I saw this sucker right in front of the glass so I thought I'd take a pic

She is as big as an adult cherry Shrimp and fat with eggs, you can see them under her.

Most Cardinal don't get this big, but she is enormous.

Very nice. Cant wait to see some updates on the babies. Mine aren't multiplying yet. I started with 6 I'm down to 3. Partly from me screwing around too much with water parameters

Lol, I won't be able to tell which ones are the babies from this clutch, I have 30 or so berries females and hundreds of cardinals in this tank. It's amazing how fast these suckers breed and grow. If you want to get some more, just let me know, I am gonna be listing some for sale on the forums here soon, but would rather sell to someone local.

I'm moving them out of the Fluval edge 6g. Maintenance on this thing is such a pain.

I just keep them warm, lol

The tank is black lava rock for substrate, has a chunk of driftwood some tubes, that's all. I have a sponge filter, and a canister. The canister has just bio media and also bags of crushed coral to keep pH high.

Parameters are pH 8.2, KH 5, gh 8, temp 82

Just keeping them in there, I started with one berried female last feb, and now I have hundreds.

How about TDS? I really like those shrimp, and they seem to be one of the few I could keep by mixing my rock hard well and RO/DI water.

thats so awesome to hear. Gives me new inspiration. Do you just do top offs or how often do you change water?

I have two hurdles.

1. Keeping my tinkering hands out of the tanks.
2. Sneek tank #10 in the house pass my wife and make up some excuse that its replacing a different one that I sold off.

I haven't changed water yet, just top off with ro when it evaporates.

It has a lid on it because otherwise the 80 degree water evaporates so fast.

Very nice. I hope you will be able to have some available for shipping in the coming months. Do you also have Blue tail or Blue leg Sulawesi shrimp? I remember a past thread you discussing them. Updates would be nice if you still have them.

No, my blue leg posos were eating other shrimp, so I sold them off.
