Algae Grower

Hey
Here's an update vid of the 350 liter tank. Moss grows in three environments: on land (dry), in humid conditions and submerged. What I'm experimenting with is getting moss from humid environments to grow submerged. Hopefully, it will grow back nice and evenly... =) See a lot more pictures of this tank and others at http://www.facebook.com/Vxtanks http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9D1_9...&feature=g-upl What do you guys think? See ya |

Looks good. Are you trying to trim hills in the moss? Whats the plan with the moss, just keep it low?

Yes, I want the moss to look like hills and by trimming them, I'm hoping that they will grow back thicker and more even. The vall. at the back with get thicker and cover the background towards the center of the tank but I'll leave a gap like a path lined with that "bamboo" like marsh plant.

Is there a common name for these moss? LOL It seems to me that they are all scientific names.

Well yes they are the scientific names because the common names get mixed up way too often (look at what happens with java and x-mas moss -.-) and it's probably different where you live than here or anywhere else...

It looks nice so far. How long has it been set up, and have you noticed any new growth yet?

The tank was setup the 31 of July and the moss was added the 1rst of November.
Some of the moss is adapting slowly, growing differently. I noticed that often the points will go black then start growing differently after that spot. all the moss on the left side seems to be doing better but it's only been a week since trimming so we'll see. =) |

Very cool idea!
I dig the tank but the back ground is distracting. However I like the back ground too! Just not together. Are you going to let the reeds grow out of the top? What substrate are you using? |

Thanks =)
I'm going to put that "blurry" film to the back of the tank so the background will look like shadows. Once I get my new lights it will be an open top tank so I'll let the reeds grow all they want. ^^ I have jbl aquabasis plus + Manado http://www.aquatic-boutique.fr/docum...%20530x110.jpg Update pic: ![]() See ya |
