Default a couple crs questions

#1: PRL's i know they are not crossed with goldens or snow whites but would they still be PRL's if mixed with cbs as long as there were not golden or snows in the mix?

#2: mixing red and black crystals, will prob end up with more red right?
#3: i started with tiger tooth V band shrimp a yr ago (reds) and im gettin more with the circle on their back a few with the white line in it but not many and fewer with the tiger tooth pattern. i have never mixed any with these so its happening on its own. should i start culling for this patter? are they slowly getting a better grade?

1, its not that they've never crossed with goldens, they're just a line of shrimp that makes pure reds. This name is given now to any shrimp people want to make sounds special. Basically think of it as a Brand Name shrimp, as opposed to a home made shrimp. They would no longer be PRL (pure line) if mixed with blacks, or even some other brands of Prl.

2 yes eventually it'll be mostly reds.

3. Yeah keep culling and youll get there. If you think you have pure lines and ever wanted to test them for line integrity, simply take one of your pure line shrimp females and put with a golden male. If any offspring are goldens, you do not have a pure line (since the golden gene is recessive).

Wish more people would recognize this bit of information below.

I think a few fancy imported shrimp lines would end up being a lot less expensive in the U.S. after some fun little experiments like that. (Obviously not less beautiful but definitely less spendy)

to be honest i was suprised to see the hino? i belive is the pattern the red dot on the back? considering i didnt start with the greatest tiger tooth. they were kinds splotchy white but do look nice now and i dont really cull any at all. ive only parted with about 35 or so. i did devide them up and have a small tank 1.5 gal cube with a couple in it and the 5 gal that houses most of them. i may just keep a few in the 5 that have a pretty red and the red dot on the back. who knows what will turn up. i know i have never had a golden or snow out of the mix in the 2 or so years ive had them so we shall see

Solid red or white legs are part of the purpose of pure red lines. But occasionally I see nice solid red or white legs on normal CRS.
