Hardiest Caridina?

As the title implies, I'm wondering what the 'hardiest' species or Caridina is? Looking for something hardy to keep with my pumpkins/orange shrimp; I don't have my water paramters at the moment, but know my pH is around 7.4-7.6 and the temp is 75-76.

Not sure about TDS, GH or KH, but know those play a bigger part in successfully keeping caridinas over neos as they're more sensitive. I have been keeping regular Tiger shrimp in the tank for about 3 months, but the population has dwindled from 12 to maybe 4 since then. Mainly random die-offs from age me thinks as they were pretty big when I got them. I did find a few "half" carcasses though... pretty odd considering I know the cories didn't do it.

Just looking to see what you guys think the hardiest breeds of caridina are. I'll update the page with my water parameters as soon as I can take them. I have everything but a TDS tester, but am thinking about getting one of those tonight on Amazon. Want to get moving on any shrimp related activities before the weather drops : )

I would focus on making sure you not having other issues before adding more shrimp to the mix. Just my opinion. I would definitely get test kit for gh and kh, and if money allows a tds meter also.

IMO it's A-S Grade CRS. ph 6.4, gh 4-6, kh 0, tds 150-160, temp 70-74.

For me it's a no brainer. Malawa Shrimp (Caridina pareparensis parvidentata).

Thanks for all the great suggestions. I am already planning on picking up some of the wild strain of Malawa's or Cardina's as I've read neither interbreed with anything else in the tank. Trying to decide which one is best for color selection...

Amanos I actually didn't think about, and I hear they're pretty hardy as well. I do like my tigers and think they'll do better if they come from another source. Would really like to find some red tigers but I've never seen any for sale, only pictures.

Do Amanos breed with any other species, anything special I need to know?

No, at least no other species available in the trade. (But they won't successfully reproduce, period, in a freshwater tank -- the females will berry, sure, but the larvae require saline water for development.)
