I need your input! I have reworked my 55g and now need suggestions for specific plant types and where best to place them.
About the tank: 55g Freshwater Safe T Sorb Substrate (love the look )pH - holding at 7.8 (based on the api master test kit) water temp - 79° F Rena XP3 Canister Filter Aqueon 55 HOB Filter Aquatic Life Dual T5HO 1x54watt 6500k + 1x54watt Roseate Fish: 6 - Zebra Danios 5 - Serpae Tetras 5 - Black Skirt Tetras 5 - Red Eye Tetras 6 -8 -Corydoras (adding soon) Here is a pic of the tank I took just today. There was one cluster of crypts in the old tank, Cryptocoryne wendtii ''green'' I think. I split it into the 6 plants you see in the pic. I also have one small Anubias "nana" I think on a rock at the right. I added some API Root Tabs(1/2 tab per plant) near each crypt.

1) Some jungle vals or other high background plants
2) Might consider other high temp fish besides cory & danios, or vice versa. 3) Lilies and lotus like high temps |

Hi, That's looking good. Your crypts will grow and fill the foreground well and it will grow to a reasonable size. But I think you can afford to plant taller plants at the back to set up a natural background. Maybe something like hydrofilia corymbosa (narrow-leaf variety), also called 'Temple Plant'. Its grows tall and the leaves are a lighter green. I like putting light coloured foliage in the background as it brightens up the tank.
See on the pic I attached. The Background plants are hydrofilia corymbosa. |
