The dirt is in! Pre-storm activities

So I finally got to putting the substrate in my 60 gallon tank. 1.5" of MGOPM capped and bordered by 2" of STS. I figured let me do this now before the power goes out. Sorry for the crappy cell phone pics. This will be coming together in the next few weeks. This my first dirted tank and my first tank in about 8 years.

I recommend finding a safe place to hide now that the work is done!

MGOPM = Miracle Grow Organic Potting Mix

STS = Safe T Sorb (I think)

Not sure yet. I would like to get 80% of plants in all at once. I will be creating a WTB post to see if anyone in the NYC area has low light plants to sell to get me started.

Looks great, good luck with your first dirt tank. I am looking into doing something similar myself. Depending on what your plan is with this, you might want to add a little more substrate to the back for more of a slope. That way you can see things in the back easier. But like I said depends on your plans. Stay safe during the Hurricane.
