Planted Tank Obsessed
|
I have a small desk tank with a dragonscale betta name Leonidas (or as everyone else calls him Leo for short), a ghost shrimp, a nerite snail, and a spotted ramshorn.
Ecco complete is the substrate with a simple sponge filter. Plants include: Ludwigia r. Baccopa c. Anubias nana Crypt parva Taiwan moss Java fern Riparium: Rullia (dwarf white bluebell) The beginning ![]() Leonidas ![]() Tank as it is now needing a trim and clean ![]() Will get a better picture this afternoon hopefully to get less glare from all the extra lighting and windows.

He Flared up at the shrimp a couple times when they first were introduced, but then doesnt pay any attention to them. He hangs out usually int the jungle of stem plants and the shrimp hide out on the other side of the driftwood under the anubias. He doesnt even notice the snails, except when I have to toss the Nerite back into the tank every now and then.

So no lid on that tank? I think My girl betta Prana ate the pond snail I put in her tank bc I don't see it anywhere. |

Have a partial glass lid that i put on at night when I head home for the day. I leave it off cuz the noise helps me relax at work from the filter.

Beautiful Betta and tank. I am surprised he hasnt made a meal of the shrimp. I really like the setup.

Looks great, and spartan even. Nice to see a planted but not overworked tank, and beautiful fish too!

![]() Had an extra riparium hanger that I thought would fit in this tank haha. Its a tight squeeze but so far I seem to like it at the moment. Leo still has room and he usually hangs out in the forest of stems.

Updated growth. Need to probably trim but have been kinda lazy lately. Added a IAL and the water has definitely got a bunch of tannins in it now.
![]() ![]() Sorry for the glare, used my phone at work to get a quick update.

Thanks its actually three separate pieces tied and glued together. The moss has grown in enough to hide most of the thread and cracks. Didnt know that the riccia was in there until like 4 weeks after putting the moss on and it started to shoot outta there.
