Hi, I've been debating adding more lighting to my lighting to my tank but have been stuck on the situation.
I current have a 65 gallon tank 16" tall. 3 inches of flourite substrate. Running pressurized co2, dosing EI. Currently I have a t5ho 108 watts of lighting running for 8 hours. The bulbs are spaced about 4 inches apart with fair reflectors and is hanging 8 inches from my tank. I haven't been having great success with my carpeting plants but had an outbreak of BBA when i added another t5ho fixture but the bba has since diminished after removing the 2nd fixture. I have a t5no 40 watt fixture that I've been wanting to add. Would this be too much lighting? |

What specific T5HO light are you using. The amount of light you get depends on the quality of the reflectors and the ballast. Some cheap T5HO lights produce far less light than the good ones. BBA usually means too little CO2 and/or too much light. And, carpeting plants usually need good CO2 more than they need higher light.

I'm using HTG ones, they're pretty cheap and doesn't have individualized reflectors. The CO2 level is okay. The reader I have with mixed with 4dkh is reading green but not lime green.
