I have a 29gal and almost finished stocking it. I need some bottom feeders because I have a lot of areas in caves that where uneaten food likes to collect.
My stock:
3 Nickel sized Angelfish
12 Head and Taillight Tetras
3 Juvie BN pl*coes
Can I add either some kuhli loaches or some cory cats?
I just added corys cat to my tank they are perfect for cleaning up and they are very peaceful. I got the Jumbo green Cories they live 15 to 20 years but are expensive. some panada cories would be good.
Corys are bottom feeders, but they are not garbage feeders. When you pick up the corys, pick up some snails. Malayian trumpet snails, pond snails or whatever. They not only get what the bottom feeders don't eat, they will be happy to clean your glass of any algae that accumulates.
We have three cories in our ten-gallon. I won't be putting any in our next tank. As someone else pointed out, they don't clean up the garbage from other fish. You have to feed the cories their own food. If you really want a garbage crew, invest in ordinary ghost shrimp. They'll eat everything the cories will eat and then some. We also have apple snails and trumpet snails in our tank. Nothing remotely edible lasts very long on the bottom.
