I have a 20 gallon long with a Marineland 280 filter, glass top and gravel. No heater or light. It's an older tank that has been kept running but never used in over a year! The glass top is clouded and the plastic strip for the back has never been cut. There were some trumpet snails in it, but I have no idea if they are even still alive as I never 'feed' this tank anymore. No reason to. I could not see any glass scratches as it is filled with water and in my dark basement. There are some chips in the plastic frame and some scratches on the side trim-does not effect stability of tank. Pictures show this.
I will let this go for $25.00 if you're interested in it. I'm in Southbury.
If you need a light strip for it, I have an Oak 30'' all glass fluorescent strip I can sell you for $25.00 too. Let me know. Thanks.
By emptying it, do you mean remove the substrate?? If you want it out of the tank, that is not a problem. I could try and dry it out for you, depending on weather if you want to take it. Let me know.
I would clean the tank and filter and give you some new filter media to add-diy cut filter medias.
yeah im good with that but im probably going to get new substrate because im might want some black substrate but yeah, also how far away are you from madison?
I am near Kettletown State Park. It's about an hours drive from Madison.
20 gal. long is 30'' long by 12h by 12d'' so you would need a board on top of what you have.
okay that will work, is the hood with light part of the tank because i can have openings on the top of the tank, also could you meet half way as far as driving i dont think i could convince my parents to drive two hours for a tank. also when could i pick it up
The tank has a glass cover. But as I stated, it is permanently clouded in areas and if you want to make it a planted tank, I would personally get a new one, although I think it would be fine for low light plants.
There is no light unless you would like to buy one from me for the amount I already stated.
I am busy this weekend, but should be free the next one. Please give this some thought to make sure it is something you want. It is a long ride to ask your parents to do as you mentioned.
When you make your decision let me know. Regards.
