This is still in the planning stage my my thoughts were a mountain on one side with various nooks and cave center will be a low carpet like a field with a backdrop of vales, and on the left side something like a tall forest.
Excuse my bad drawing skills
My planned residents for this tank will be a pair of angels, tetras, a few otos and cories, some ghost shrimp refilled as I know they will be eaten every so often and various snails. Will be using a Fx5 filter and plan on med- high light using http://www.catalinaaquarium.com/store/product_info.php?cPath=71_198_200&products_id=1638. Will be using injected co2 and a decent power head on the left flowing to the right. This is my first time setting up a tank planted this size. When I had this one setup years ago there was nothing real besides the fish. Any suggestions on fish ( community and smaller the better) want lots of action, plants or equipment would be appreciated. This is all in the planning stages and will be put together slowly as I don't have the best paying job out there or luck winning the lottery
Sorry no photos as of yet. Tank is still in a storage unit waiting for me to move. As of details basically the drawing is about all I have come up with. My budget is small so I am keeping an eye on craigslist to see what I can snatch up for cheap. I think I am going to go with a ton of micro fish in this tank. keeping everything under 2 inches if I can
Finally have it started. Still waiting on my wood to come in but it will be placed on the left. Don't mind the filter its only temporary just to help get the plants started. Will be ordering my filter and lighting in the next few weeks. Light is going to be very high so I will probably add some floaters to help out abit. Will be putting a 3 bulb T5HO catalina fixture in with 2 6500k bulbs and 1 plant grow. 3rd bulb will be on for a short mid day burst. Still thinking of what other plants should go in. I have to get some hard scape this weekend. Still going with micro fish at the moment. Stocking will be:
20 Ember tetras
20 Harlequin Rasboras
10 Otos
4 True SAE ( will be cycled through all my tanks as issues arise)
7-10 Panda Corys
3 Dwarf Gouramis or 1 betta?
Was able to get some decent riverstone this weekend from a local landscape supply. Can't beat 5$ for a 5 gal bucket. Driftwood and and few more plants thanks to Wasserpest to come later this week. Anyone know if the SUNSUN HW-304B and a Small circ pump should be enough flow?
Thanks to Wasserpest I have a few more plants in and a mess of stuff floating around that I don't even know what it is. My driftwood got here at the same time as well. I'm thinking its a bit big and may need to be trimmed back or a branch chopped off.
New filter in and some new residents, 10 Oto's, 13 Harlequin Rasboras, 2 Amanos, 1 SAE.
New light and Co2 equipment come in later this week. Added some new plants in too. Will get some reds out of them when the new lights are in. Just working with a single T-8 right now so its real low light.
Got the new light in And will be picking up my C02 tomorrow. So it is well on its way. So far I am happy with the layout and growth seems to be doing well for now.
Update taken from this morning before work. Some of the bottom leaves on the Temple are starting to melt. I guess this is normal? Drop checker has stayed a constant green, thinking of bumping it up a bit. Doing my normal ferts using Flourish Comp and Leaf Zone. Moss on the tree doesn't seem to be doing much since I put it in there. Maybe too much light? Starting to notice algae on my dwarf chain so I am going to cut back the time on the lights by an hour.
I have neglected it quite a bit but looking to fill the back in with some taller plants, this is after the cleanup this weekend that left it a bit skimpy
