Hmm...could you use an elbow and connect the strainer at a 90° angle so its lower than the water line (like the top 3 taped off would be lower)?
Would it work to T/WYE off and make a herbie? I have the CS202 so not sure on the one hole system.
Or remove the strainer altogether and put a sponge at the bottom
