Ok so that means I should take it back and try again? It won't grow plants? The plants I have are going to die? Does this put out less light than a T12 shop light? I really am getting frustrated! I have to have a 36 in fixture as 48 in is too long for the tank, but that also means the wattage is lowered from 54w/bulb to 39w/bulb of T5 HO.

I spent close to 400.00 on the aquatic life fixture, and I don't have the finances to buy the 36 inch version anymore. Can someone offer some reasonably priced options?
